Born in 1987 in Yakutsk (Russia), Beata studied philology in Nijnii Novgorod. She graduated from the School of Film and Documentary Theater (Moscow), under the direction of Marina Razbejkina and Mikhail Ugarov. She started her career as a filmmaker in 2013.
Beata has directed several documentaries related to current events in Russia or the former USSR. Her films have all participated in international festivals such as: IDFA, True / False Film Festival, ZagrebDox, Brisbane International Film Festival, Artdocfest, Lavr, DOCUDAYS UA, Open City Documentary Festival, Documentary Film Festival in New York or Astra Film Festival. In addition, she directed the documentary series "Russian Roulette" (HBO, 2015) and the theatrical show "The Shaman's Tale" (2020).
